Foreign Foods

On the topic of interesting foods, I thought that I would make a list of the unusual foods that I've consumed during my time in Asia. These are the ones that I can remember. I'm sure there are many that I'm forgetting.

Things I've eaten for the first time in Asia:

beondegi aka silkworm larvae
fried crickets
chicken anus
chicken intestines
chicken heart
chicken liver
raw cow heart
raw cow intestine skin
assorted raw beef
cow liver
raw sea squirt
raw oysters
assorted raw fish
raw octopus tentacles
raw squid tentacles
whole crab
whole fish
ox tail soup
etc, etc, etc...

If you know me well, you might be surprised that I've actually consumed all of that (and kept it down). I'm not a huge fan of seafood... or intestines. But, I make it a point to not turn down food I am offered. I didn't go out in search of any of the aforementioned food, it found me. I'm still waiting to be offered live octopus, get back to you on that soon...
