I'm grateful for: Hawker stands! Hawker stands are stalls that sell a variety of inexpensive food. Usually there are several in one place like a food court. Though the term food court exists here, they are often referred to as hawker centers.

Hawker stands are really popular here in Singapore. You can find them pretty much anywhere. Many are open late like this one pictured, where we grabbed a late night snack at midnight.

Doesn't get much better than a collection of cheap food places open late!
