First, we went to Goa Gajah. The area around Goa Gajah is what's in today's picture. So beautiful there! Just to hire a moto driver to go to Goa Gajah and back would have cost me at least $6.
Not only did I get to go to Goa Gajah for free, but after Goa Gajah we went to Samoan Tiga in Bedulu, ate gado gado on the outskirts of Ubud, drove around Monkey Forest and stopped in Ubud Palace, drove around the side streets watching the parades and admiring the penjor, drove through the rice terraces to the villages in the north and hung out in Petulu Gunung where hundreds of Egrets come to roost each night, happened upon the village parade in Petulu where the entire village had turned out to celebrate Galungan, and finished the day with an amazing Kecak Fire and Trance Dance! A fantastic Galungan Day to say the least!
